Torstein Nilsen
Designer MNIL / ProfessorTorstein Nilsen is a Norwegian interior architect and furniture designer. He graduated from the National Academy of Craft and Art Industry in 1975 and became later a professor at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts. He has designed a number of furniture series commissioned for Norwegian manufacturers and was the first Norwegian furniture designer to team up with foreign furniture manufacturers. He has also worked as a booth- and exhibition architect and has been represented at exhibitions in Norway and abroad, among other «Design in Europe» in Stuttgart (1988), solo exhibition at Norsk Form in Oslo (1995) and «International Nordic Touch in Form & Design» in Kalmar (1997).
